WWE fans confused as three-hour show with huge debut ‘runs short’ with new champ crowned

WWE fans were left confused after the second edition of Monday Night Raw on Netflix finished around 30 minute short. As much as wrestling fans have been irked by it, Raw has been three hours long for around 13 years.

So cue some confusion when the much-hyped second episode since the company’s move to Netflix finished after just two hours and 32 minutes in San Jose, California.

Fans took to social media to express their shock over it, with one stating: “Did I miss the memo where Raw wasn’t going to be three hours? I mean, the show was fine, I was just surprised when it went off at 10:33.”

Another posted: “Wait is raw three hours now I’m so confused.” And a third commented: “I love how we’re all treating RAW like our professor just let us out of a three-hour lecture early.”

However, as explained by social media influencer and WWE fan Wheezy Blonde explained: “We have to let go of specific run times . . . we’re not confined by ‘we’ve got to be done by 11pm’.

“Wrestling fans are really bad with change, but what you’ve got to get used to know is that Raw is no longer a cable network television show and they are not constrained by a run time.

“There isn’t a programme on after them so they can end when they want and keep doing as long as they want – It’s not BS, they get to do and spend the time that they want.”

The show itself went down well with fans, as CM Punk, Seth Rollins and Drew McIntyre all declared themselves as entering into next month’s Royal Rumble, while luchador Penta’s much-talked-about debut was a hit.

Irish wrestler Lyra Valkyria became the first ever WWE Women’s Intercontinental champion, while fellow Irish man Sheamus beat up Ludwig Kaiser. Sami Zayn bested The Miz in just four minutes, and Damian Priest destroyed Finn Balor in street fight.
