A woman has gone viral on social media after sharing the one outfit she regrets wearing to work because it made her feel uncomfortable.
Beth Buckingham, from Australia, asked the age old question that plagues women all their working lives: is their outfit “too short for work?” The video was a hit on TikTok, with more than one million views after she shared her dilemma.
The 30-year-old posted an old clip of herself wearing a white mini skirt and questioning whether it was too short to wear to work. She then answered her own question.
She said: “Yes, it is far too short! What were you even thinking? Honestly, you will wear it and flash everybody in the office, and you’ll be uncomfortable all day and wish you’d never wore it.”

Beth shared the video and said it was often a problem for tall girls. She added that her followers need to remind her to “never wear it to work again” and asked for recommendations for skirts that sit mid-thigh and aren’t ugly.
Beth’s office outfit divided the comments section. While someone who works in government said it was a hard “gosh no” and another said “genuinely, your skirt is too short”, some women commented that they often wear the same length skirt to work.
The 30-year-old told news.com.au that in Australia, you “get away” with wearing short skirts, even in corporate culture in the middle of summer. She said: “My office is quite casual so no one else blinked twice. It’s not that serious.

“But I personally just felt uncomfortable wearing it all day because I was moving around, getting up from my desk, walking around etc. So, I wished I’d changed the second I filmed that first video. Always clarity in hindsight.
“I’ve worn my standing jeans to work before and immediately regretted it after sitting down for five minutes. I’ve also forgotten to take a few tags of new clothes before.”
