Police have released a CCTV image of a woman they would like to speak to in relation to a suspected theft in Taunton. Police are investigating the incident which happened at a pub on East Street on Thursday, December 5.
A woman was wearing a bracelet while in The Perkin Warbeck pub, but she lost it after it fell off her wrist. The item of jewellery had been gifted to the victim for her birthday. A member of the public picked the bracelet up and failed to hand it in, sparking a criminal investigation.
Avon and Somerset Police would like to identify the woman pictured as part of their investigation. The woman has medium length blonde hair, was wearing a white cardigan and had a walking stick.
Anyone who recognises the woman pictured or has information to help the police and their investigation is asked to call 101 quoting the reference number 5224319828.
A statement from Avon and Somerset Police reads: “We are carrying out enquiries into a suspected theft offence in Taunton. A woman was wearing a bracelet at The Perkin Warbeck pub, in East Street, on Thursday 5 December but lost it after it fell off her wrist.
“The jewellery item had been gifted to the victim for her birthday. We believe it may have then picked up by a member of the public who failed to hand the item in.
“CCTV enquiries have been carried out and we wish to identify the woman, pictured, as part of our enquiries. We would ask the woman in the image, or anyone who recognises her, to please contact us online or on 101 quoting reference number 5224319828.”
