Winter Wonderland Stoke-on-Trent has pledged to ‘look into’ its queuing system – after delays getting into the popular festive attraction. One StokeonTrentLive reader has shared a picture of a queue to get into Winter Wonderland between Christmas and New Year.
It comes as Winter Wonderland shuts for Christmas 2024 at 9pm on Sunday, January 5. But the entrance queues have annoyed some visitors to the Hanley attraction.
Kathryn Leadbeater said: “It takes an eternity to get in. Two little booths selling tickets and people taking an age to decide which tickets to buy. Even if you buy tickets online in advance you still have to queue. It is no fun standing in a queue for an hour or more with little kids. Winter Wonderland – please sort it out. Your entrance system is diabolical.”
But other visitors have never experienced queues.
Tara Howes said: “I have never queued and I go every single year. My longest queue for tickets has been seven minutes.”
Lisa Bridgwood added: “I’ve always walked straight in.”

Winter Wonderland has thanked Kathryn for her ‘feedback’.
The attraction said: “The feedback has been taken on board. Security safety measures are in place for the safety and well-being of all. We have extra cashiers on over peak periods and are looking into the system ahead of next year’s event.”
Winter Wonderland Stoke-on-Trent director Michelle Matthews added: “We have been blown away by the public response this year. It has been so obvious that people have been looking forward to the event’s return and we have had lots of great feedback from visitors who have been visiting to have a fantastic time.”
