Love Island’s Chris Taylor is gearing up to impress viewers with his skating prowess in the upcoming series of Dancing On Ice. However, the Whetstone-born star has expressed concerns about potential injuries or embarrassing mishaps during filming.
Most of all, Chris is fearful of replicating TOWIE star Gemma Collins’ infamous fall in the 2019 series of the skating show, reports the Mirror. He said: “I’m nervous about dancing with razor blades on my feet and potentially getting injured. I’ve hurt my elbows skating before and was in pain for quite a while so that scares me.#
“I don’t want an injury to hinder my experience, I don’t want to have a Gemma Collins moment.”

Chris, who returned to Love Island last year for its first ever All-Star series, is paired with professional ice dancer Vanessa Bauer for Dancing on Ice. The Leicestershire man has previously featured on other dating shows such as Dinner Date and Celebs Go Dating alongside Love Island, but wanted to venture into new territory for 2025.
“I’ve had very little success with the dating shows I’ve been involved with recently so I just thought you know what, let’s try something that is the polar opposite of dating to see if I can have some success with that,” he said. “It appears to be more dangerous than dating but who knows, I could be good at it if I put my mind to it.”
The reality star describes himself as “a little bit of a showman” and confesses that he has more roller skating experience than ice skating, He remains hopeful of performing well and receiving support from his friends and family.

“My mum and dad are buzzing, all my friends and family are desperate to come and watch me live. I think they’re going to be proud watching me,” he said. “My Love Island friends Kaz Kamwi, Toby Aromorlaran, Michael Griffiths, Joe Garratt, Jess and Eve Gale will all come and watch me I hope.”
Chris is set to skate alongside a lineup of intrepid celebrities including ex-TOWIE favourites Ferne McCann and Dan Edgar, The Traitors’ own Mollie Pearce, Hollyoaks’ Chelsee Healey and EastEnders’ star Charlie Brooks. Coronation Street regular Sam Aston, comedian Josh Jones, footballer Anton Ferdinand, and Olympic champion rower Sir Steve Redgrave are also getting their skates on.
They’ll be showcasing their moves before judges Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean, Oti Mabuse, and Ashley Banjo. Holly Willoughby and Stephen Mulhern take the helm as hosts for the show that kicks off on Sunday, January 12 on ITV1.
