Welsh public affairs agency Deryn acquired by Cavendish

Wales’ leading government relations and strategic communications agency, Deryn, has been acquired by one of the sector’s biggest UK players. The deal, the value of which has not been disclosed, sees Cavendish’s expanding its geographic presence across the UK.

As part of the deal founders of Deryn in Cathy Owens and Nerys Evans will remain with the Cardiff-based business – which they set up 13-years-ago – but under the new name of Cavendish Cymru. The 13 staff at Deryn become part of a large team of more than 180 Cavendish consultants.

Deryn has built a strong reputation for its in-depth understanding of the Welsh political environment, with its leadership team hailing from backgrounds as special advisers, Senedd members and political editors.
