There is travel disruption in Merseyside again following adverse weather conditions. Today is the sixth day in a row the region has been hit with a weather warning.
The yellow weather warning for snow and ice comes after days of traffic chaos, school closures and rail cancellations as a result of the disruptive weather. The latest warning for today began at 12.15am and is in place until 11am.
Merseyrail activated its cold weather plan this morning, meaning the first trains of the day ran without customers. The train operator said this was to “ensure lines are clear and safe for use.”
