A walker had to be rescued from a popular Aberdeenshire hill range on Hogmanay after getting into difficulty in strong winds.
Workers from the Aberdeen Mountain Rescue Team (MRT) shared details of the incident at Bennachie on their social media channels, with the team battling the elements to assist the walker.
Video footage showed the challenging winds facing rescue workers, with Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire under a yellow weather warning at the time of the incident.
In a post on Facebook, Aberdeen MRT wrote: “Some of the team were out this evening on a rather breezy Bennachie to assist a walker in difficulty.

“Hopefully the last callout of 2024, wishing everybody an uneventful New Year!”
They then added a second post as the clock hit midnight while still up Bennachie: “Happy New Year from the team members that were out on Bennachie this evening!”
