The crash is being investigated by North Yorkshire Police, who confirmed to Chronicle Live on Friday morning that no charges have been brought yet. However, the force continues to appeal for information.
A spokesperson said: “We’re appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage of the incident, which happened shortly after 8.30pm on the northbound carriageway between J57 and J58.
“We would like to thank the members of the public who assisted at the scene. We would like to hear from anyone who has not yet spoken to us who has dashcam footage or information about the incident, including anyone who witnessed the crash or saw either vehicle prior to the collision.”
