Tyrone May speculation quashed as Hull KR star makes long-awaited return

The rumour mill never stops turning in Hull, and this off-season has been no different. During the most recent Super League downtime, the future of Tyrone May dominated social media conversation as rumours suggesting that he would not be reporting back to Hull KR wouldn’t go away.

May didn’t return to the UK for the start of pre-season but Rovers always insisted that the halfback would be returning at a later date, having granted him permission to return late so he could remain in Australia with his partner for the birth of their child.

Hull Live revealed that May would be back at the club on January 2nd and true to form, the club wasted little time to confirm that their playmaker was back as he joined his teammates in pre-season training for the first time today.

His return will finally put to bed the rumours that have circled for months, with May set to partner Mikey Lewis in the halves once again following a successful first season together.

28-year-old May played 31 times for Rovers last year, scoring six tries. He will be part of the travelling contingent that heads to Tenerife this weekend as Rovers behind their warm-weather training ahead of the new season.

May is off contract at the end of the season, having joined the club from Catalans Dragons on a two-year contract.
