Two people rushed to hospital after serious A64 crash

Two people have been rushed to hospital with serious injuries after a crash on the A64.

North Yorkshire Police say the crash took place at around 7.30pm on Sunday, December 29 on the eastbound carriageway of the A64. This was at the end of the entry slip road from the A1036.

Two cars crashed into a stationary Ford EcoSport on the road. The emergency services attended and two drivers were taken to hospital with serious injuries.

A third person was also treated for minor injuries.

As a result, the A64 eastbound was closed all night to allow for an investigation into the crash. It reopened at 10.45am this morning.

The police said: “We’re appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage following a collision that occurred on the A64 near York.

“It happened at approximately 7.30pm on Sunday 29 December 2024 on the eastbound carriageway of the A64, at the end of the entry slip from the A1036.

“Two vehicles collided with a black Ford EcoSport which was stationary. Emergency services attended and two drivers were taken to hospital with serious injuries, a third was treated for minor injuries.

“The A64 eastbound was closed all night to allow for forensic investigation work to be carried out at the scene. It reopened at 10.45am this morning.

“We’re now appealing for anyone who recalls seeing the vehicles involved prior to the collision that has not made contact with us already to get in touch as soon as possible to assist the investigation.”
