Family of twin sisters who disappeared more than a week ago said the pair had not informed them of their intentions to “immediately” vacate their rented apartment.
This new information about Eliza and Henrietta Huszti has emerged as police in Aberdeen intensify their search along the River Dee, close to where the twins were last spotted. The 32-year-old sisters were last seen at 2.12am on Tuesday, January 7, strolling through Aberdeen city centre. CCTV footage captured them walking down Market Street at Victoria Bridge in the city, before they turned onto a footpath that runs alongside the river, heading in the direction of Aberdeen Boat Club.
Police Scotland detectives have since deployed marine units and canine search teams in an effort to locate the duo. The force is currently operating under the assumption that both women may have entered the water, with no evidence so far to suggest they left the vicinity.

Now, the family of Eliza and Henrietta have revealed that they were not informed about the twins’ plans to abruptly leave their shared flat.
As part of the ongoing investigation, officers have discovered that the sisters, originally from Hungary and part of a triplet set, had been planning to move out of their rented flat in the city. Police Superintendent David Howieson said Tuesday: “There was an indication from the person from whom they rent a flat who had concerns that they left the flat and indicated they intended to move.”
Jozsef, the brother of the missing sisters, has revealed that the family was in the dark about the sisters’ recent decision to abruptly end their tenancy decision seemingly made without any prior indication of such a plan.

Jozsef said: “They wrote a message to their landlady that they wanted to immediately end their tenancy agreement. We didn’t have any information about that. So that’s the strange thing, that the girls didn’t tell us anything about that. They never mentioned any such plan.”
In conversation with the broadcaster, he highlighted that the women werent struggling financially and were in fact saving money to buy a property. The police maintain an unbiased stance on what transpired with the sisters but currently see no evidence to implicate anyone else in their disappearance.

Police Scotland have confirmed they’re working in tandem with officers from the sisters’ homeland, who are in touch with relatives. Mr Howieson expressed that the force is “extremely concerned” for the siblings and is calling on the public to step forward with any leads.
On Monday, the sisters’ family issued a heartfelt plea for help, sharing their distress through a statement. “This has been a very worrying and upsetting time for our family,” it read.
“We are really worried about Eliza and Henrietta and all we want is for them to be found.”
