Three teenagers aged 15 and 16 have been arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary after a machete was found in a flat. Officers were called to Bracebridge Drive, Bilborough, at around 9.25pm on Sunday, January 12, following reports of a break-in at an apartment.
A group of youths were seen trying to flee the address. Three boys aged 15, 15 and 16 were arrested and remain in custody following a search of the area and other inquiries.
A machete was found inside a bag within the flat by officers. The trio were arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary.
One of the 15-year-olds was further arrested on suspicion of possession of a Class B drug after cannabis was found during searches. The victim reported that a watch had been stolen and this was later recovered at the rear of the property.
Detective Chief Inspector Claire Gould of Nottinghamshire Police said: “The officers who attended the scene should be commended for making these arrests promptly and recovering the machete. It is always pleasing to take a dangerous weapon like this out of harm’s way.
“Our investigation into this incident is at an early stage and we’d ask anyone with any information to come forward without delay.”
