Travel YouTuber says first Edinburgh to Dubai Emirates A350 flight was ‘an absolute dream’

A travel blogger has documented his journey on the first Edinburgh to Dubai flight on Emirates new A350 aircraft.

The new luxury service sees wider aisles, extra high ceilings and more impressive features. Aviation enthusiast, Nonstop Dan, was one of those on the first service from the capital.

He was impressed by the new features and the ‘sharp attention to detail’. Dan posted a vlog of his journey to YouTube.

Speaking in the clip, Dan said: “This new aircraft is exciting for many reasons.

“First of all, Emirates hasn’t taken delivery of a new aircraft type since 2008. They haven’t received a single new airplane in several years.

“It’s a much smaller aircraft than their signature 777-300s. Considering they have 65 of these A350’s on order, it signals a shift to smaller planes on certain routes and a future with more potential routes.

“The A350 is an aircraft that will shake up Emirates.”

Dan starts off in the city centre, visiting the Christmas Markets before heading to the airport. He then watches the aircraft pulling into the gate before boarding.

Dan continues: “What a time to be alive. It is nice. What you might notice is the tech improvements over older seats.

“There’s a sharp attention to detail. The entertainment system has Bluetooth audio now as well.

“Perhaps the most impressive thing is all the foot space.”

He also noticed the extra toilets, as well as being impressed with the ‘modern’ tablet.

Dan added: “They have so many seasons of my favourite shows.

“It’s an absolute dream. They have user friendly features.

“I am impressed with this catering. I didn’t expect this.”
