‘Simply outstanding’
If you’re on a budget this Valentine’s Day, you might want to visit this wonderful Thai restaurant, with delicious food and affordable prices. Our KentLive reporter paid a visit to the Thai Palace in Maidstone for lunch, and wasn’t disappointed.
With a two course lunch priced at £9.45, you can’t go wrong. The menu features plenty of options including vegetarian and vegan dishes with tofu, so there is something for everyone.

‘Secluded pub-restaurant with amazing views’
If you’re looking for a quiet spot with breathtaking views, Mount Edgcumbe has to be the one. With a recent upgrade to the Georgian hotel, this is a stylish place to spend Valentine’s Day.
It’s got outstanding views of Edgcumbe Rocks, a bouldering crag in Tunbridge Wells. The hotel is rated five-star, with great reviews, one customer wrote via Google: “Had a fantastic family lunch. It’s all been freshly decorated, and looks fantastic. The service was polite, friendly and attentive, a very good menu – something for everyone.
“The food came quickly, good portion size and was delicious. Going back gain in a month’s time as they have function rooms upstairs for a celebration. Cannot recommend this place enough :).”

‘Dinner by the sea’
Those in Folkestone will know this special spot, inspired by Greek and Mediterranean food, overlooking the sea. Cavells is a new restaurant, beautifully decorated with a lovely menu with plenty of sharing platter dishes.
You can find tasty plates of Prawn Saganaki £19.95, Braised Moroccan Lamb shank for £24.95 and classic Stifado for £19.95. One customer recently left this glowing review via Google: “Lovely restaurant. It’s beautiful inside and the views of the sea and cliffs can’t be beaten. Service was friendly and efficient.
“The food was delicious with generous portions. We’re foodies on a day trip from London and the food was on par with what we’re used to. Highly recommend the prawn and feta main dish.”
