Three men have been charged after a serious assault took place in Gloucester on Christmas Eve. Gloucestershire Police were called to Cromwell Street at around 2.30am and a man, aged in his 40s, was found badly injured and taken to hospital with several suspected stab wounds.
Alexander Flanagan, 32 and of no fixed abode, and Daniel Walsh, 32 and of Newton House, London Road, in Gloucester, have both been charged with section 18 wounding with intent following the incident. Flanagan is being held in custody to appear at Cheltenham Magistrates’ Court today, Thursday, January 2. Walsh previously appeared at the same court and was remanded in custody.
Meanwhile, Daniel Mann, aged 22 and of Leominster Road, Dymock in the Forest of Dean, was charged on Christmas Day with common assault, section 18 wounding with intent and threatening a person with an offensive weapon. He also appeared at Cheltenham Magistrates’ Court and was remanded in custody.
Police said the victim has since been discharged from hospital. Investigating officers are continuing to appeal to the public for information.
Gloucestershire Police said: “Investigating officers are still keen to hear from anyone who lives in the surrounding area who has CCTV or doorbell footage which shows anyone in the area either before or after the incident. Those with cameras are asked to review their footage between the times of 1.25am and 3.10am.
“Anyone with information or footage is asked to provide this to police online by completing the following form and quoting incident 34 of 24 December.”
