Three people have been taken to hospital following a two-vehicle crash on a Cambridgeshire A-road this morning (January 14). The incident happened at around 7am.
Emergency services, including police, fire, ambulance and the air ambulance, were called to the A10 near Littleport. The road was closed in both directions, with delays being reported up to Ely.
An adult man was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in a serious condition. Meanwhile, a woman and a child were taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King’s Lynn for further assessment and treatment.
A spokesperson for East of England Ambulance Service said: “We were called just after 7.20am to a road traffic collision involving two vehicles on the A10 near Littleport. Two ambulances, an ambulance officer vehicle and the East Anglian Air Ambulance were sent to the scene.
“An adult man was transported by road to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in a serious condition, while a woman and a child were taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital for further assessment and treatment.”
A spokesperson for Cambridgeshire Police added: “Police were called at 7.15am today to a two-vehicle collision on the A10. Fire and ambulance are also in attendance and the road has been closed in both directions at Downham Lane near the retail park, Graves Lane roundabout and also at the McDonalds roundabout.”
A Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue spokesperson said: “At 7.19am crews from Ely and Cottenham were called to a road traffic collision involving two vehicles on A10 near Littleport. Using specialist equipment firefighters released a casualty and returned to their stations by 9.10am.”
