Three men were set to appear in court today, Saturday January 11, charged with drugs offences following a police raid in Birmingham. The charges came after police raided a suspected cannabis factory, allegedly worth more than £1 million, in Hockley.
The raid was carried out on Thursday January 9. Kien Pham, aged 32, Duc viet Tran, 22 and Nguyen Toan, 20, were charged with cultivating cannabis and abstracting electricity.
A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: “We’ve charged three men after shutting down a £1 million cannabis factory in Birmingham.

“Officers from our city centre proactive crime team – Taurus – discovered the drugs den on Thursday (9 January). More than 1,300 cannabis plants – with a street value of around £1.3 million – have been seized from a property in Barr Street, Hockley, and will now be destroyed.
“Three men were arrested and have now been charged with cultivating cannabis and abstracting electricity.
“Kien Pham, aged 32, Duc viet Tran, 22 and Nguyen Toan, 20, were remanded to appear before Birmingham Magistrates’ Court today (11 January).”
