Three men charged over teen motorbike bike death appear in court

Three men charged in connection with the death of a teenager killed in a motorbike bike crash have appeared in court.

Dean Barnes, 16, died after a crash while riding a stolen motorbike on January 24, 2023. The smash happened on Ainsdale Grove in Reddish, Stockport, with Dean, from Brinnington, dying at the scene of ‘multiple injuries’.

Three men charged in connection with the crash appeared at Stockport Magistrates’ Court on Thursday afternoon.

Adam Norman, 36, of no fixed abode but from Brinnington, Stockport, has been charged with burglary, causing death by dangerous driving, and causing death by driving while uninsured and disqualified.

Alex Riley, 20, of Blackberry Lane in Brinnington, Stockport, has been charged with burglary and dangerous driving.

Callum Duncan, 28, of Salisbury Street in Reddish, has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving.

All three men appeared at Stockport Magistrates’ Court on Thursday afternoon. No pleas were sought and chair of the bench of magistrates, Alison Edwards, adjourned their cases until February 6 when they will re-appear before a judge at Minshull Street Crown Court in Manchester.

Mr Norman was remanded in custody until that hearing while Mr Riley and Mr Duncan were released on conditional bail.
