A three-car smash on the A50 triggered long delays in Stoke-on-Trent. Police and paramedics were sent to the scene of the crash on the westbound side in Heron Cross shortly before 11am today (January 15).
The collision – involving a silver Mercedes AMG, a grey Kia Picanto and a grey Seat Ibiz – led to queues back to Meir. The A50 reopened at around 2pm.
A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: “We were called to the A50 westbound in Heron Cross, Stoke-on-Trent, at 10.38am this morning following reports of a three-vehicle collision. Officers went to the scene alongside paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service. No-one was injured and recovery was arranged.”
West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed one man was checked over following the collision. An ambulance service spokeswoman said: “We were called to a road traffic collision on the A50 in Fenton. One ambulance attended the scene. Upon arrival we found a man who was assessed by ambulance staff and did not require further treatment. He received self-care advice before being discharged at the scene.”
