Three people, including two youths, have been arrested following months of anti-social behaviour and criminal damage in a small Lancashire town.
LancsLive reported last week how residents in Oswaldtwistle say they have been subjected to relentless abuse from a group of youths who have been running rampant and terrorising the community. In one incident, the nativity scene on Union Road was smashed up with bricks and set alight.
Other fires have been reported behind a football hut on Harvey Street while hooligans have been seen hurling abuse at passers-by, throwing objects onto moving vehicles on Union Road and banging the bus stop. Police arrested a 13-year-old boy on December 20 on suspicion of causing criminal damage and was bailed with a curfew.
In an update issued on Monday (December 30), Hyndburn Police said two more youths have been interviewed about ‘linked incidents’ and will be dealt with by the Youth Offending Team. An adult was also arrested and issued a police caution in connection with the incidents.

“An adult was also arrested and has been dealt with via a police caution in connection to these incidents. We will not tolerate anti-social behaviour in our neighbourhoods, and we will continue to work with the community and partners to tackle these problems head on.
