A handful of Cardiff restaurants will be offering deals so that diners can eat out for cheaper this January. This time of year, perhaps many of us are trying to take it easy on our spending following Christmas and New Year’s celebrations. However, this doesn’t necessarily mean we can’t go out and have a good time.
In fact, January might be one of the best times to go out, considering various restaurants in the city are running a number of special offers to counter the fact that it’s a financially difficult time of year for many of us. We have compiled a list of the restaurants offering a special deal this month. We have included what the offers are, as well as where you can find these eateries in the city.
Terra Mare
30% off a la carte

While this Italian restaurant will remain closed until Friday, January 10, so that their staff have a well-deserved break, they will be offering a special deal. Diners can enjoy 30% off of their à la carte menu for groups of up to four guests. To claim this offer, you will have to enter the code JAN30 in the guest notes when booking your table on the restaurant’s website or via the OpenTable app.
The restaurant opened in the city centre in October of last year. The chic restaurant offers authentic flavours of Puglia to its dishes. In a recent Instagram post explaining their upcoming offer, the staff at the restaurant said: “We’d also like to take a moment to thank you for your incredible support during the past few months since our opening. Heaneys

Heaney’s is bringing back its £35 five-course tasting menu, which diners can enjoy at lunch times and midweek evenings, which includes Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evenings. This offer starts on Wednesday, January 8. On Instagram, the restaurant posted: “The much loved £35 taster is back! 5-courses, snacks and treats …. Not just for lunch this time…..we’re extending to Wednesday, Thursday & Friday evenings also! Oh, and the trio of desserts is back too. Starts January 8th. Ember
Ember was one of Cardiff’s most hotly anticipated openings
Two courses for £20, three courses for £25 at lunchtime
The newly opened Ember restaurant, which is a collaboration between two of Cardiff’s best chefs – Tommy Heaney of Heaneys and Uisce in Pontcanna and Dave Killick, previously of the Heathcock in Llandaff – is now offering a deal for its diners.
