A large number of schools are closed again today across North Wales, amid the continued freezing weather. A yellow alert for ice is in place until 10am, with dangerous driving conditions causing issues on the roads.
A Met Office forecast said: “Scattered wintry showers on Thursday evening will slowly fade overnight, leading to the risk of icy patches on untreated surfaces as temperatures fall below freezing. Isolated snow accumulations of 2-4 cm will be possible, more especially in Wales on hills above 150m elevation.”
People have been urged to take extra care when out and about, amid the sub zero temperatures, with more cold weather on the way today.

Gwynedd:
Ysgol Treferthyr, Criccieth: Closed – The school’s site is dangerous due to ice. Car park and paths frozen.
Ysgol Hafod Lon, Penrhyndeudraeth: Closed – Car park frozen – not safe for vehicles to access
Ysgol Cymerau, Pwllheli: Closed – School site and surrounding areas dangerous due to ice.
Ysgol Bro Idris – Safle Rhydymain, Rhydymain: Closed – The site will be closed due to Ice and Snow
Ysgol Bro Idris – Safle Dinas Mawddwy: Closed -The site will be closed due to Ice and Snow
Ysgol Bro Idris – Safle Friog – Closed – The site will be closed due to Ice and Snow
