The magical Snowman trail to do with kids in Surrey in the New Year holidays

Christmas may well be over for another year, but there are still a number of days before the little ones go back to school. And with bad weather playing havoc all over Surrey, this magical trail could be a good idea to keep the kids entertained.

Raymond Briggs’ picture book ‘The Snowman’ has been recreated in Staines. A trail of 12 giant Snowman sculptures, each decorated with designs inspired by the song ‘The Twelve Days of Christmas’, has been put on around the town.

The trail has been running since November 24 but it is set to continue until Sunday, January 12 – making it a great option for a New Year’s walk with a difference. Maps can be collected from the Christmas stalls in Two Rivers or viewed online here.

Once collected, or downloaded, the map can be followed around the town. You’ll be able to see all the sculptures in places like the Memorial Gardens and on the High Street.

The map also includes details on the designer of the statues, as well as the part of ‘The Twelve Days of Christmas’ it has been inspired by. Once the trail has been completed, you can visit Waterstones on the High Street, Toy Barnhaus (Elmsleigh), The Entertainer, or Smyth’s Toys (Two Rivers) to collect a Trail Certificate.

This event has been organised by Visit Staines and supported by Spelthorne Borough Council, Two Rivers, Places Leisure, Dandara Living and Eden Grove.
