The Gathering Sounds Festival confirms 2025 return after last year’s sell-out

A popular Teesside music festival has announced its return for 2025 after a sell out success last year.

The Gathering Sounds Festival is set to take place on Saturday, September 27, 2025, across various venues in Stockton. The acclaimed one-day festival will once again transform the town into a lively hub for the best in new music.

Tickets are already in high demand, with early bird passes now available for just £17 (+ fees) via Fatsoma. The Gathering Sounds Festival has not only become a beacon for music lovers but also a significant contributor to the local economy.

The 2024 edition generated over £100,000 for North East businesses including those involved in security, lighting, production, transport, food, drink, accommodation, and hospitality. The economic boost highlights the festival’s growing importance as both a cultural and financial asset for the town.

The festival’s magic comes alive across Stockton’s iconic venues, including the Georgian Theatre, ARC, and KU Bar and the festival has been a springboard for some of the UK’s most exciting emerging acts.

In 2024, Fat Dog, The Royston Club, SNAYX, and Wings of Desire led an impressive cadre of acts at TGS, which also included memorable appearances from About Bunny, Komparrison, and The Crooks. These artists represent just a fraction of the talent that has illuminated the festival’s stages, turning TGS into an essential destination for those keen to discover the next big thing in music.

Organiser Jimmy Beck spoke to the success of the festival, noting: “The response to this year’s festival was phenomenal. The Gathering Sounds has truly become a cornerstone event for Stockton and the wider North East, showcasing not only incredible musical talent but also the spirit of our local community.”

He expressed his gratitude towards the collaborative efforts that made the festival a hit, saying, “We’re incredibly grateful to the amazing venues in Stockton and the national promoters we collaborate with, who work tirelessly to provide an outstanding platform for new and emerging talent. Together, we’re creating a proper music industry event that highlights the best the North East has to offer. 2025 is shaping up to be our biggest and best yet, and we can’t wait to see everyone there.”

With 2024 seeing all tickets sell out, TGS aims to scale up its 2025 offering with an ever richer lineup and stellar performances across genres, driven by UK’s leading indie promoters, ensuring an unparalleled experience teeming with indie rock vibrancy, dance-punk energy, and groundbreaking experimental sounds.
