Two teenage boys and a man have been arrested in connection with a fatal crash on Christmas Eve in Buckhurst Hill. Emergency services rushed to Palmerston Road at around 7.30am on December 24 following reports of a collision.
Police and ambulance colleagues were called to reports of a collision involving a pedestrian and a car. The road was closed whilst emergency workers responded but, sadly, a woman in her 60s died at the scene.
Essex Police has previously appealed for more information about a grey Jaguar XJ which failed to stop at the scene. On Monday (December 30) three people were arrested in connection with the crash.

A man, 20, from Loughton, a 17-year-old from Dagenham and a 16-year-old from Chingford were all taken into custody. They have been arrested on suspicion of a number of offences including causing death by dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene of a collision.
The 20-year-old was released on bail until March 13 whilst the two boys are on bail until March 14. Officers are still investigating the circumstances of the collision.
Detective Sergeant Sam Nason said: “My thoughts continue to be with the family of the woman who died in this incident and they are being supported by specialist officers. We are continuing to appeal for information about the collision and what led up to it. In particular, I need anyone who saw or has footage of a grey Jaguar XJ around the time of the collision in Buckhurst Hill and Chingford.”
An Essex Police spokesperson added: “If you have any information, CCTV, dash cam or other footage in relation to this incident, then please get in contact with us. Please quote incident 171 of 24 December.
