This week there’s a long list of road closures on major routes across Surrey. National Highways will conduct the overnight roadworks, which will mean drivers will have to follow diversion routes throughout the county.
Closures near Heathrow and Gatwick airports will mean passengers and staff should allow for extra time before travelling, in case they are either late to their flight, or are collecting someone from the airport. Elsewhere in Surrey, ongoing transformations at the M25/A3 Wisley interchange are taking place, drivers will be affected by a full weekend closure of the A3, with the major road closed in both directions from Friday night until the early hours of Monday, January 20.
Other Surrey roads will be resurfaced or undergo electric works. National Highways will also need to undertake drainage works and vegetation clearing to ensure conditions are safe for drivers.
Some road closures will commence from as early as 9pm in some areas, so drivers should be aware before undertaking journeys. Some road closures can overrun the next morning, particularly in extreme weather conditions so drivers are advised to check before they travel.
