Surrey’s weather is expected to remain miserable, with temperatures expected to plummet over the coming days. However, the county is also still dealing with the effects of last weekend’s rain and snow trickling into our rivers.
One flood warning remains, for the River Wey at Elstead and Eashing where flooding of property and roads is expected on Tuesday (January 7) especially in the Elstead, Eashing and Tilford areas.
The Environment Agency expects that river levels have already peaked and will remain steady, with no further rise forecasted. The most recent reading marks the river level 1.67 metres. The Environment Agency states that property flooding is possible when it goes above 1.74 metres.
