Support Hull’s Dove House Hospice by recycling your Christmas tree

Dove House Hospice in Hull is once again encouraging locals to take part in its “tree-cycling” initiative as a way to be eco-friendly and gather crucial funds.

On Friday and Saturday, January 10 and 11, 2025, individuals residing in the HU5 The Avenues; HU8 Garden Village; HU10 Anlaby, Kirk Ella, West Ella, Willerby; HU13 Hessle; HU14 North Ferriby; HU16 Cottingham and HU17 Beverley postcodes will have the opportunity to have their trees picked up in exchange for a donation to the hospice (a recommended donation of £10 per tree). The previous year’s tree recycling endeavour amassed over £2,000 for the charity.

This initiative seeks to involve the community and offer an environmentally friendly solution for disposing of their Christmas trees, all while supporting the essential care Dove House delivers throughout Hull and East Yorkshire.

Dan Clipson, senior fundraiser at Dove House Hospice, said: “This Christmas sees the return of our well-supported recycling initiative, having raised over £2,000 in 2023. Residents can simply leave their real Christmas trees at the top of their drive or in their front garden and our team of volunteers will collect directly.

“It is hoped that this year’s appeal raises £4,000 for local hospice care. Support of this kind from the local community is greatly valued by all at the hospice and is essential to help Dove House Hospice continue to provide the vital person-centred care for many people in Hull and East Yorkshire”.
