There are long delays on the A30 in Cornwall after another multi-vehicle crash. The westbound carriageway is currently blocked following a crash between Temple and Millpool this morning, Tuesday, January 7. We will keep you updated with the latest in our blog posts below.
Roads and traffic monitoring site Inrix reported the crash at 11.06am. It said: “A30 westbound blocked, delays due to multi-vehicle accident and ice from St Breward turn off (Temple) to A30 (Preeze Cross, Millpool).”
The extent of the crash is not clear at this time. Emergency services have been contacted for further information.
The crash is now the sixth collision on the A30 in just 24 hours. Devon and Cornwall Police warned that the A30 was badly affected by ice between Bodmin and Okehampton, after several crashes in the area.
In a statement it said: “We are responding to several collisions in the Force area due to heavy snow and icy conditions. The #A30 is particularly affected by snow between #Bodmin and #Okehampton, along with some roads on #Dartmoor. Please stay safe and do not travel unless absolutely necessary.”
The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for snow across parts of Cornwall. The warning, which is in place from 9am until 11.59pm tomorrow (Wednesday, January 8) and is forecast to bring widespread disruption.
