A Coatbridge coffee shop says it has suffered “significant stock loss” following a late-night break-in.
The owner of The Coffee Counter at Coatbridge Sunnyside Station was able to open as usual on Saturday, January 11, despite the premises being left with “significant damage” after the incident, which is believed to have happened late on Friday night.
Pictures shared with Glasgow Live show produce from the coffee shop left strewn all over the platform. It is understood British Transport Police is looking into the incident.
Posting on Facebook, the owner said: “Unfortunately, we were broken into last night, resulting in significant stock loss and damage. Despite this setback, we’ve worked hard to open as usual this morning and are already out replacing stock.
The door was left damaged following the break-in.
