There was huge relief today for Gardaí and the family of a Cork woman as she was found safe and well after being missing from home since December 20.
Frances Malone, 65, had been missing from her home in Rockchapel, County Cork since the Friday before Christmas, with an appeal being issued by Gardaí for any information on her whereabouts on New Years’ Eve.
Gardaí confirmed today that Frances has been safely located and returned home after nearly two weeks, with no further assistance being required from the public. A Garda spokesperson thanked the media and public for their help in locating Frances.
They said: “Frances Malone, 65 years, who was missing from Rockchapel, County Cork since Friday, 20th December 2024, has been located safely. An Garda Síochána would like to thank the public and the media for their assistance in this matter. No further action is required.”
It has been a very worrying Christmas and New Year for several families in Cork who have been through the trauma of having loved ones go missing.
