A Teesside pub known for its “perfect parmos” is encouraging punters through the door this January – even if they can’t afford to spend.
The Poverina Inn, in Normanby, has taken to social media to urge Teessiders to visit and leave a review which will in turn help the business. The High Street venue says even if customers can’t afford a meal or a drink there are other ways to support the pub.
Staff say customers can like, tag and share, posts on social media and have urged punters to help spread the word about their business. The post reads: “January has to be the longest month ever!!! It’s a killer for you and it’s a killer for us…we get it!!
“But, we still need you….even if you can’t come in for a meal or drink we really do still need your help. Although yes, we do need money, we do need custom, we need people through the doors….we are asking for your free help!! You don’t need to spend to help us.
“If you can afford a drink, please come in…if you can afford a meal, please come in….if you can’t, you are welcome in still (we love meeting people). Whatever your situation, you can help!! If you have visited us in the past leave us a review!
“On Google, Trip advisor and or Facebook these help us massively. The standard score for most pubs is 850 we are at 839 which is pretty close! You can share our posts you can like our page’s you can tag us in other peoples posts please just help us.
“Please give us one minute, click on our page….click the three little dots at the top right and select invite friends. We still have customers that say to us on the daily ‘I live in Boro and didn’t know you had a function room’. Maybe this post could help us get the word out there. We hope to see you in the pub and out of the cold.”
The pub is popular with Teessiders and has 4.2 stars on Google reviews. One reviewer praises the pub’s “perfect parmos”, it reads: “Went after work to relax and have some nice food.
“This place definitely delivered, I ordered hot shot parmo, and the other half ordered ultimate chicken burger. Both looked amazing, and you could tell it freshly made.
“Parmo was perfect. I would definitely recommend it, and I will definitely be going back.”
Another customer added: “Amazing food today and service from the chef! Parmos are to die for and the home made chips and garlic sauce are beautiful my partner got a cowboy burger and that was also amazing!! 100% recommend if haven’t already.”
