Prince Andrew being kept afloat by one surprising ally as world crumbles

The start of 2025 has brought with it a fresh blow for Prince Andrew with the news that a firm managing his private investments has shut down.

Urramoor Limited – which the disgraced Duke had “significant control over” – has applied to be struck off and dissolved, documents filed to Companies House show. It comes just a year after the investment company was bailed out by a mystery donor.

It’s the latest setback for the Prince, who was absent from the royal family’s Christmas celebrations in light of his connections to alleged Chinese spy Yang Tengbo. Adding to his woes is continued questioning over how he will pay for his 30-room mansion in Windsor, Royal Lodge.

Inside Prince Andrew’s spectacular fall from grace from war hero to civil sex case

His brother the King is said to have cut off financial support to Andrew, including security at Royal Lodge and his annual £1 million living allowance. But it seems Charles is also the one person keeping Andrew afloat.

One source within the royal circle told the Mail Online that the King took it upon himself to personally clear his brother’s bills. They said: “He [Andrew] just doesn’t have that many friends any more. He barely goes out, he’s not that welcome anywhere. So it’s got to be family, and the obvious person is the King. I mean, why would anybody who’s not family want to give him money when they’re not going to get anything out of it except a lot of flack?”

Another person claimed Charles has enabled Andrew to stay at Royal Lodge for the foreseeable future with money from the monarch’s own back pocket – not the public’s taxes. The source, who has reportedly been a guest at the Windsor mansion before, said: “Charles has paid for it all. The King has cleared it. It’s all done.”

Prince Andrew’s true feelings ‘exposed’ as expert tears apart Christmas plans

Andrew has been keeping a low profile ever since his links with an alleged Chinese spy came to liight last month. It was the latest in a long line of controversies to engulf the Prince.

Andrew was famously forced to step back from public duties following his bombshell interview with the BBC about his ties to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, which aired in November 2019, just over five years ago.

His mother, the late Queen, then stripped Andrew of his military titles and patronages in January 2022. But throughout it all, he has had the unwavering support of his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson, who remains incredibly loyal to the Prince.

In a recent interview with the Times, which took place before Andrew’s links with Yang Tengbot were revealed but published afterwards, she gushed about her love for the Duke.

“I was totally and utterly in love with Andrew. I would do it all over again, 100 per cent. He’s the best, a great man with a great heart, and kind. Our wedding was the best day of my life. But I gave up my anonymity that day. I was able to because love conquers all.

Sarah Ferguson makes shock confession about marriage to Prince Andrew

“It’s still with us today. I won’t let him down. He supports me as much as I support him. He’s supported me through thick and thin, not just marriage or divorce. We agree on the three Cs — communication, compromise, compassion.”

Andrew and Fergie split in 1992, and divorced in 1996, but they still live together at Royal Lodge in Windsor. In the same article, Sarah’s sister Jane shared , “Sarah and Andrew are the best divorced couple I know. They’ve done it for their children; it’s incredible.”
