Veteran radio presenter Su Harrison will be returning to the Essex airwaves with a brand new show just a month after her shock departure from Radio Essex. Su has hosted shows across radio stations in the county with Martin Day for more than 20 years, but departed the station in December 2024.
Martin Day remains at the station hosting the breakfast show, but now it has been confirmed that Kube Media have signed Su to host a new weekday show from 10am to 1pm across Essex Hits, Radio Southend, and Radio Chelmsford. The show will be available on the Hits Player app, DAB+ radio and smart speaker.
For the last 24 years Su has been waking up Essex across different stations and has become a favourite for households giving the county plenty of laughs along the way. Bringing morning smiles, laughs, and energy on various stations, Su is now ready to go solo, continuing to be a household name that brings even more fun to your day.

Su’s first show with Kube Media will begin on Monday, January 20, a month to the day since her last show on Radio Essex. She said: “I’m beyond thrilled to announce that I have a new radio show of my own! It’s going to be an absolute blast – this opportunity only came up just over a week ago, and I can’t wait to kick things off on Monday.”
Previously in 2024, Su shared how she had retrained as as celebrant – a person who leads a ceremony such as a marriage or funeral. She launched her own business, Su Harrison Celebrant, and is set to continue this alongside her new solo radio show.
