A busy A-road in the West Midlands is currently closed to traffic due to an ongoing police incident. Motorists have been warned of the road closure this morning (January 11) on a key route to the Merry Hill shopping mall.
A461 Duncan Edwards Way in Dudley has been closed in both directions. The road, also known as the Dudley Southern Bypass, is shut between Castle Street and Flood Street.
The closure relates to an incident at the B4171 Hall Street bridge, which passes over the A-road. An alert was issued on XC (formerly Twitter) by West Midlands Roads, which said: “A461 Duncan Edwards Way between Castle Gate and Flood Street, Dudley. Road closed both ways. Police incident at Hall Street bridge.”
