Police dashcam captures moment driver drives wrong way on A55

This police dashcam footage captured the moment a dangerous driver drove the wrong way on the A55. Dale Broome, 29, was pursued by several North Wales Police officers as he reached speeds of 100mph on 20mph roads in the St Asaph area. He also drove the wrong way down a stretch of the A525 in Denbighshire.

Broome only stopped when his car got stuck in mud on an A55 embankment near Caerwys and a pursuing officer prepared to Taser him. Broome left his vehicle with his hands in the air, prosecutor Michael Whitty told Caernarfon Crown Court yesterday.

He gave a reading of being more than twice the drink drive limit. Her Honour Nicola Jones branded it the worst case of such driving without casualties she had ever seen. You can sign up for all the latest court stories here.
