Police break up 25-strong New Year’s Eve bash at Stoke-on-Trent ‘party house’

Police dispersed a 25-strong New Year’s Eve bash at a Stoke-on-Trent ‘party house’. They then locked up the property – on Mornington Road, in Sneyd Green – to stop the party resuming.

It comes after police had been called to the same property on December 27. It followed reports of a ‘large number of young people drinking alcohol, throwing items and being noisy’.

The New Year’s Eve incident was reported at 8.40pm on Tuesday, December 31.

A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: “We were called to Mornington Road on New Year’s Eve following reports of anti-social behaviour. Officers went to the scene and dispersed a group of around 25 young people from the area. The property was then secured and locked. After updating the informant, officers left the scene.

“We are continuing to monitor the location and would like to encourage anyone with concerns over anti-social behaviour to report it to us.”

Anyone with any information about the New Year’s Eve party can call the police on 101, quoting incident number 575 of 31 December, or call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
