Police appeal to find ‘hooded man riding bike’ after gun used to smash into car

Police have issued an appeal for information after a car was smashed into in an early hours incident. Staffordshire Police shared a CCTV image of a hooded man they want to speak to.

A suspected BB gun was used to smash the car window in Victoria Crescent, Burton-on-Trent on Thursday, December 12. The window of the Toyota Iygo was damaged at around 4.30am, with a dashcam then taken from inside the vehicle.

Police said a man was seen riding a bike in the area at the time of the incident. He was next to a woman in a white top walking in the area. The force is now urging anyone with information to get in touch.

The full appeal from the force read: “We’re appealing for information after a suspected BB gun was used to smash a car window in Burton-on-Trent. It happened at about 4.30am on Thursday, December 12 when the window of a Toyota Iygo was smashed on Victoria Crescent.

“A dashcam was taken from inside the car. CCTV footage from the area shows a hooded man riding a bike in the area at the time. He was next to a woman in a white top who was on-foot in the area.
