Plymouth’s winning beauticians as voted by you

A recent search for the best beauticians in Plymouth has come up with some winners – as voted by you. From nail art to lashes and facials – the winning beauticians have shared why they love the industry, and it’s not just about looking good.

Creating a “safe space” for customers is all part of the service from these professionals – and beauty professionals love meeting “incredible” people through their work. The winning beauticians spoke of their “amazing clients” making their job fun and friendly.

Of course clients leave their treatments feeling like the “best version of themselves”, but the “warm” environment many beauticians create for their customers makes it all the more special. Hayley Gilbert runs her beauty business, Hayley’s pampering in your own home – and she got the most votes in the Plymouth Live poll.

Hayley said: “I love being in the beauty industry as I’m passionate about skin care and self care. We never take enough time for our selves, I strive to provide relaxation treatments in the comfort of peoples homes. I believe it’s so important to take care of ourselves and I know the benefits of having regular massage. I find my job so rewarding, helping people to relax and unwind releasing any tension. Let me bring the spa to you! I love the that you can build such amazing relationships with your clients, strong customer care and support from my wonderful clients is incredible.”

Hayley was praised for her massage and facials and is highly reviewed online, customers also describe her valued services as “affordable”.

Jasmine Taylor at 11:11 Beauty Studio Plymouth also received lots of votes. She is a finalist for The Hair and Beauty Awards 2025 and her salon space is described as “so cosy and relaxing”.

Jasmine Taylor said: “For me, working in the beauty industry feels like coming to work with my friends every day, I enjoy meeting new people and creating a safe space for them to share their life with me over time whilst giving them the confidence to feel like the best version of themselves, be that through lashes or bespoke facials.”

Another beautician who received lots of votes is Jessica Jenkins, she runs Nails and beauty at JJ’s. Jessica loves being a nail tech and to make people “feel great about themselves”.

She said: “I offer a warm, non-judgmental, friendly environment and service where children are always welcome. Being a mum of four boys myself, us mums deserve to feel spoiled too, I’m in my 10th business year – and with the support of my amazing clients I’ve created a lovely little business.”

Also popular with voters was Hannah Allen at The Nail Witch. She loves being in the beauty industry – and says it’s a job like no other.

Hannah said: “There aren’t many jobs that you get to create art, and chat to your friends all day. I get to hear stories from incredible, strong women every day.”

Other beauticians with top votes in the PlymouthLive poll were Nicole Allen at Hello Gorgeous, Ugly Bettys Boutique, Butterfly Nails Plymouth, Brooke Lee at B Studio, Rhi Carfrae, Make up artist Shaunna Marie, Bex Johnson at Salon 323 and Tabitha Alice Beauty.
