Plans for a 32-bed HMO on Beverley Road submitted

Plans for a large 32-bed house in multiple occupation (HMO) on Beverley Road have been submitted to Hull City Council.

The application concerns 337-341 Beverley Road. Built in the late 19th century, the site used to exist as three separate terraces houses but they have since been combined.

Since being combined into a single property, it has been used as office space for a number of years, currently being operated by Alan Wood & Partners, an engineering consultancy firm, who “are due to relocate to new premises in the near future,” according to planning documents submitted to the council. The plans explain that the company will be moving to a more modern premises “to reflect their growing business.”

The proposed work includes remodelling the property to have kitchens, bedrooms, and en-suits on each of the ground, first, and second floors, and a gym on the ground floor.

The bedroom layout is proposed to be as follows, each bedroom is set to have its own en-suite:

  • Ground floor: twelve bedrooms
  • First floor: twelve bedrooms
  • Second floor: eight bedrooms

The plans also set out the developer’s intention to provide thirteen car parking bays, a cycle storage unit with the capacity to store up to twenty cycles, and storage for up to four motorcycles.

Access to the property is available from Beverley Road, Lambert Street, and from the rear of the property.

Hull City Council is now set to make a decision on the proposals.
