Weather experts have warned of a ‘pest from the west’ headed for Ireland as the event is said to be worse than the infamous ‘Beast from the East’.
The latest forecast is indicating that a significant weather event will be impacting Ireland and the UK from next week.
According to Ireland weather expert Wolfe Eire, there is ‘little support’ for a beast from the East but rather another threat from the Atlantic.
In an update shared on Wednesday: “There is a lot of talk about the ‘B***t from the East’ impacting Ireland and Britain later this month. There remains little background support for such an outcome at present with the ‘Pest from the West’ favoured to influence our weather from next week.
“Online chatter about a BFTE event has reduced signficantly today. There is minimal support for such an outcome. A greater Atlantic influence on our weather will become established later on Saturday.”
Meanwhile Met Eireann have issued a forecast for the next couple of days, which is as follows:
Today
Dry today with the best of the sunny spells in the east of the province. The most persistent cloud will be the west along with some mist patches. Highest temperatures of 9 to 11 degrees with moderate to fresh southerly winds developing.
Tonight
Largely dry with a mix of cloud and clear spells some patchy rain and drizzle will push into western parts of the province later. Lowest temperatures of 5 to 9 degrees. Southerly winds will be mostly moderate, occasionally fresh.
Tomorrow
Patchy rain and drizzle tomorrow morning will clear in the afternoon with some sunny spells following. Highest temperatures of 9 to 12 degrees in moderate, occasionally fresh southerly winds.
