An elderly man has died in hospital after a serious crash in Renfrewshire.
John Allan was taken to hospital shortly after 8.30am on Sunday, December 29, when the collision took place on Beith Road in Johnstone.
John, who was a pedestrian, was struck by a red Toyota Corolla, and was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment.
However, Police Scotland has since confirmed John, from Johnstone, died within the hospital on Tuesday, December 31.
The driver of the car was not injured.

Police are continuing to appeal for information. Sergeant Paul Mellis, of the road policing unit said: “Our thoughts remain with John’s family and friends at this very difficult time.
“I would ask anyone who may have witnessed the crash, or who may have dash-cam footage, and has not yet spoken to or provided this information to officers, to contact us as soon as possible.
“Enquiries into the crash are continuing. I would appeal to anyone with information to contact us through 101 quoting incident number 0814 of December 29, 2024.”
