Northumberland County Council jobs up for grabs with salaries up to £52,000

Northumberland County Council currently has a number of vacancies being advertised for a range of roles. Jobs are available across a range of departments from social work, to lecturing or catering.

The local authority is also seeking a project manager to lead its ambitious multimillion pound regeneration programme over a two year period.

Social Work Support Assistant

Location: Various

Salary: £27, 711 – £30,060

Hours: Full time

Job description:

As a key worker for adults with care needs over 18 years of age, you will be the main point of contact for support and advice to them and their families. You will also lead in ensuring their safety in their day to day lives and to help them live as full and independent a life as possible.

The role will include responsibility for completing needs assessments, taking into consideration safeguarding, reviewing the need for continuing healthcare and promoting self-directed support.

Responsibilities include carrying out assessments and working with service users to design solutions to meet their desired outcomes, seeking guidance from your Line Manager and colleagues where appropriate. Managing and planning such work in an effective way to allow the required monitoring and review of the outcomes achieved for an individual.

Ensuring all written and electronic records are maintained to organisational standards. Providing written reports, outcomes of assessments and recommendations. Advocating on behalf of service users.

Lecturer – maths

Location: Seghill

Salary: £34, 314 – £37, 938

Hours: Full time

Job description:

The council is looking for an experienced lecturer to expand a team to deliver a range of Maths courses, including Functional skills and GCSEs across our full provision.

To participate in the planning and development of programmes and to carry out teaching and learning activities across the county.

To deliver good or outstanding teaching and learning, using innovative methods including e-learning and taking into account the needs of individual learners and support them to achieve their goals.

Catering assistant

Location: West Hartford Fire and Rescue Station & HQ West Hartford Business Park, Cramlington

Salary: £10,714 – £10,882

Hours: Permanent

Job description:

The role includes the preparation, cooking and service of food and beverages, setting up of the dining area, including washing tables etc.

Packing meals for transport to other locations where appropriate, transporting meals between kitchen and serving or dining area as necessary and clearance of the dining area and other service points after meal service.

Requirements for the job include Basic food hygiene certificate – Nationally recognized qualification e.g – City & Guilds 706/1, NVQ Level 1 or 2 – Food preparation & cooking or equivalent; Cooking experience in a catering establishment; a commitment to continuous personal development; driving licence/access to motor your own use.

Project manager

Location: Morpeth

Salary: £48,710 – £52, 805

Hours: Fixed term two year contract

Job description:

An exciting opportunity to play a leading role in Northumberland County Council’s £175m Town Regeneration Programme.

You will lead on project and programme development and delivery joining our growing multi disciplinary teams across major capital and revenue projects including the £35m Ashington Regeneration Programme, £21m Borderlands Place Programme, £110m Energising Blyth Programme and £3.5m Cramlington Regeneration Programme.

The role requires the ability to work with a high degree of autonomy and initiative, to have a proactive, solutions and delivery focussed approach, to have experience and expertise in partnership working and external grants processes and operating effectively within a political and governmental framework.

Requirements for the jobs include a background in regeneration, project and or programme management, planning, surveying or similar disciplines. Offer ‘intelligent client’ project management expertise applying knowledge of the development cycle through RIBA Plan of Works.

Demonstrate current application of project management tools and for monitoring and reporting all aspects of project/programme delivery.

People Adviser (HR)

Location: Morpeth

Salary: £38,626 – £42,708

Hours: Fixed term post for 12 months

Job description:

As a People Adviser you will provide generalist People advice in all aspects of employment/People matters within your allocated business areas.

Working as part of a supportive wider People team, the key responsibilities of this role will involve providing People advice across employee relations issues including sickness absence, grievance, disciplinary, capability and performance management, job evaluation, as well as advising on change management initiatives and reviewing People policies and procedures.

The postholder will need the ability to independently travel to locations across Northumberland however, the council’s Worksmart hybrid working model will enable you to work flexibly, balancing business needs with personal preference.

Essential requirements include a Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resources or equivalent demonstrable portfolio of experience – this is a key requirement.
