A search operation is underway after a man was reported to have fallen from the Tyne Bridge.
Emergency services were called to a report of a man falling into the River Tyne from the bridge at around 10.30pm on Wednesday. HM Coastguard was seen searching the water between the Tyne Bridge and St Peter’s Marina in the early hours of Thursday, reports Chronicle Live.
Northumbria Police has confirmed that searches remain ongoing.

A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: “At around 10.30pm yesterday (Wednesday), we received a report of a man who had fallen from the Tyne Bridge in Newcastle into the river below. Emergency services attended and searches remain ongoing in the area.
