An image has been released of a man police would like to trace as officers investigate a report of sexual assault.
Northumbria Police received a report that a woman – who is in her 20s – was in Bier Keller, in Newcastle city centre’s Bigg Market, at 1am on Saturday, November 16, when she was approached by a man she did not know. He then grabbed the woman’s face and licked her right cheek, and put his hand up her skirt.
The force confirmed that enquiries have been ongoing since the report was first made and the woman continues to be supported by specially-trained officers. However, on Friday, January 3, officers released an image of a man they would like to identify.
He was in the area at the time the offence is reported to have taken place and it is believed he may be able to assist officers with their enquiries.
