A party organiser has named Newcastle as the most popular destination in the world for stag-do’s.
Last Night of Freedom, a stag and hen do organiser based in Gateshead, compiled the rankings based on its annual booking figures. And according to them, the city has beaten the likes of Amsterdam and Prague, making it six years out of seven that the North East destination has beaten its competition.
Managing director of Last Night of Freedom, Matt Mavir said: “Whether it’s the friendliness of the people, the incredible nightlife or even just the accent, we truly believe Newcastle is the best place to party in the world. Benidorm rightly took top spot last year as it has a special, anything goes atmosphere that our stags just love – stepping off the plane is an incredible experience, and we love the place. But for us, nothing can compare to Newcastle – we just wouldn’t want to be based anywhere else.”
Well-known for being a party city, Newcastle is frequently awash with stag and hen-do’s in the Bigg Market. Matt added: “A weekend probably isn’t enough to properly experience what an incredible place Newcastle is. We love our city and it’s clear that our stags feel the same. I can’t see that changing any time soon.”
Behind Newcastle and Benidorm in the stag league table was Liverpool. Both cities appear in the top 10 list of hen do destinations, but the North West comes out top in that race. Dublin, Edinburgh and Cardiff also make the top ten stag do destinations alongside Bristol, which has shot up the rankings this year.
