New Year’s Day tragedy as man found dead in North Staffordshire home

A man was found dead in a North Staffordshire home after police and two ambulances were sent to the scene. Emergency services had been spotted on Bank Street, in The Rookery area of Kidsgrove, last night.

Today and paramedics say that sadly nothing could be done to save the patient, after two ambulances were sent to a ‘medical emergency’ just after 8.10pm. Staffordshire Police are not treating the death as suspicious.

A spokeswoman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We were called to a medical emergency on Bank Street. Two ambulances and a BASICS emergency doctor attended the scene. Upon arrival we found a man. Unfortunately, it became clear that nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed deceased by ambulance staff at the scene.”

A police spokesman said: “We were called to an address in Kidsgrove yesterday following reports of a sudden death. Officers went to the scene alongside paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service. Sadly, a man was found dead inside. His death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for HM Coroner.”
