New venue for Errigal Ciaran v Dr Crokes semi-final after pitch inspection at O’Moore Park

Saturday’s rescheduled All-Ireland Club SFC semi-final between Dr Crokes and Errigal Ciaran has been moved to Newbridge following a pitch inspection at O’Moore Park.

The Portlaoise venue was originally scheduled to host the game last Sunday, but the cold snap forced the postponement of both semi-finals with Cuala’s clash with Coolera Strandhill at Kingspan Breffni also called off.

Both game have been refixed for this coming Saturday, but Laois Hire O’Moore Park remains unplayable and Errgial’s meeting with Dr Crokes will now be played at the recently redeveloped Cedral St Conleth’s Park in Newbridge. Throw-in remains at 3pm.

The postponement of the semi-finals last weekend means the semi-final winners will have just eight days to prepare for an All-Ireland Club final with the senior decider scheduled for Croke Park on Sunday, January 19.

The Tyrone champions claimed a tense one-point win over former champions Kilcoo in last month’s Ulster Club final in Armagh.

Peter Óg McCartan scored the winner for Enda McGinley’s men with Joe Oguz netting early in the game for the Dunmoyle men, who won a third provincial title with a 1-8 to 0-10 victory.

Dr Crokes were comfortable winners over Tipperary’s Loughmore-Castleiney in the Munster Club SFC final in Mallow.
