New photo issued of missing woman who left home in the cold almost a week ago

Amid freezing temperatures in Greater Manchester, police are still searching for a woman who has not been seen since leaving home last weekend. People are being urged to look out for 57-year-old Lynda, from Bury.

She has not been seen since leaving her home on Parish Drive in Ainsworth, near Bolton, at midday on Saturday (January 4). Greater Manchester Police has issued a fresh appeal to find her this afternoon (January 10), with temperatures set to plunge below zero again tonight.

The force has shared a new image of Lynda, in which she is wearing the long leopard jacket and red beanie hat that police say she frequently wears. Lynda – whose surname has not been given by GMP – is described as white, 5ft 3ins tall and of skinny build, with frizzy grey hair.

Concerns are growing for Lynda and police are urging anyone with information to come forward. A GMP spokesperson added: “Officers want to make sure she is safe and well.”
